I arrived at my voting location at 6:30 and saw a line wrapped around the building. Apparently I wasn’t the only one who thought I would arrive before the crowd. I had to get out early while the husband could be home with kids or else I’d be in line with 4 children and that didn’t seem ideal.

I’m standing here typing this blog on my phone because I need something to pass the time and because this election has been weighing on me so hard. My hand is already freezing, but I plan to finish. 

We have only two options, my opinion, let me stress OPINION is both are awful. 

I prayed on the way here and I have blocked out everyone surrounding me and have attempted to pray in the line. I firmly believe that God has America in his hand. He sees what’s occurring and I believe he hurts for us. We are part of this fallen world filled with sin and pain and our leadership options do a wonderful job of representing that. 

I also believe God turned Saul into Paul and if he can do that, I can’t begin to imagine what he could do with Trump or Clinton. As a Christian my hope for this country doesn’t rest on politicians or businessmen who want to be politicians. It rests in God. I love him and he loves me. He loves his children and America is filled with them.

I don’t want it to sound like my vote doesn’t matter because I love my country and I know why voting matters and why it’s important and why it’s a privilege here as it is denied to so many world wide (that’s why I’m standing here going on 40 minutes and still not inside) I just know that God is already at work. Trust in his plan. 

If you are a believer… When you wake up tomorrow or stay up tonight waiting for results, accept them. Believe that God is bigger than all of this. Believe his plan for us is good. Believe he loves us. Believe that he loves America because I’m certain he does.
